Một trong những điểm sáng của nền kinh tế Việt Nam 10 tháng năm 2024 là kim ngạch xuất, nhập khẩu hàng hóa đạt kết quả tích cực, duy trì mức tăng cao, trong đó khu vực kinh tế trong nước đã có sự nỗ lực vượt bậc khi có tốc độ tăng của kim ngạch xuất, nhập khẩu hàng hóa  cao hơn khu vực có vốn đầu tư nước ngoài. Động lực chủ yếu là sự phục hồi nhu cầu của nhiều thị trường xuất khẩu, doanh nghiệp gia tăng nhập khẩu các mặt hàng phục vụ sản xuất các mặt hàng chủ lực.

Cán cân thương mại hàng hóa tháng 10 sơ bộ xuất siêu 1,99 tỷ USD. Tính chung mười tháng năm nay, cán cân thương mại hàng hóa sơ bộ xuất siêu 23,31 tỷ USD (cùng kỳ năm trước xuất siêu 24,8 tỷ USD).

Tính chung mười tháng năm 2024, tổng kim ngạch xuất, nhập khẩu hàng hóa sơ bộ đạt 647,87 tỷ USD, tăng 15,8% so với cùng kỳ năm trước, trong đó xuất khẩu tăng 14,9% (tương đương 335,59 tỷ USD); nhập khẩu tăng 16,8% (tương đương 312,28 tỷ USD).

Cities develop as a result of functions that they can perform. These factors ensured that Chicago would become a great city regardless of the disadvantageous characteristics of the available site, such as being prone to flooding during thunderstorm activity.

Similarly, it can be argued that much of New York City’s importance stems from its early and continuing advantage of situation. Philadelphia and Boston both originated at about the same time as New York and shared New York’s location at the western end of one of the world’s most important oceanic trade routes, but only New York possesses an easy-access functional connection (the Hudson- Mohawk Lowland) to the vast Midwestern Hinterland. This account does not alone explain New York’s primacy, but it does include several important factors. Among the many aspects of situation that help to explain why some cities grow and others do not, original location on a navigable waterway seems particularly applicable. Of course, such characteristics as slope, drainage, power resources, river crossings, coastal shapes, and other physical characteristics help to determine city location, but such factors are normally more significant in early stages of city development than later.

SCREEN TIME: MENTAL HEALTH MENACE OR SCAPEGOAT?

    "Have smartphones destroyed a generation?" Jean Twenge - a psychology professor at San Diego State University - asked in her controversial book, iGen. In the book, she argues that those born after 1995 are facing "a mental-health crisis", and she believes it can be linked to growing up with their noses pressed against a screen. Her newest study provides more support for that connection, showing that teens who spent more than an hour or two a day interacting with their gadgets were less happy on average than those who had more face time with others.

    Twenge's conclusions have come up against criticism in the past. Some have accused her work of oversimplifying or overlooking data that may tell a slightly different story.
