Câu hỏi:

Read the following passage and choose the best answer to each of the following questions from 31 to 40.

1. Children often view their family life as normal because it is the only world they know. A child raised in a large house or a small apartment, in a big family or by a single parent, usually accepts that situation as natural. In my childhood, for example, my family had only a small black-and-white television. I never felt deprived, because it was the only one we had. I accepted it and enjoyed watching programmes on it. This shows how children quickly become satisfied with what they are given. [I]

2. Family traditions also shape what children believe to be ordinary. If a family eats dinner together, attends religious services, or spends time talking, children absorb these habits. [II] Sadly, many traditions are now disappearing. Families often eat in separate rooms, while members focus on phones or television. This weakens communication and reduces closeness. [III]

3. This distance can continue into adult life. When children believe separation is normal, they may pass it on to their own families. Modern technology makes this problem stronger. [IV] Children spend long hours on phones, computers, and games, while parents sometimes give in rather than insist on family time. As a result, important traditions such as meals and shared conversations are often lost, replaced by screen time.

4. Parents also face the same issue. Many spend large parts of the day on smartphones or computers. Shared experiences, such as family gatherings or cultural events, have become less common. Although technology is useful, it often replaces meaningful conversations. Families risk losing the close bonds that once connected generations together.

5. Therefore, it is important for parents and caregivers to set boundaries that protect family traditions. Shared experiences, such as meals and conversations, provide love, security, and a sense of belonging. They remind children that they are part of a supportive family. These connections are valuable not only for today but also for future generations, and they are worth preserving.
